Background Image? We Got You Covered.

If you are operating a photography website, you know how useful background images are; background images, along with custom header image is also a feature of WordPress theme. Most, if not all, renowned themes come with support for custom background images.
How do you know if your theme has custom background image support? You can head on over to Appearance → Customize, and this will launch the theme customizer. There, you should be able to see an option named Background Images. If you don’t see it, it means your theme does not support Background Images.

But even if your theme does not support custom Background Images, you can still install a plugin like Full-Screen Background Images.

So You’ve Been Trying to Tag Images in WordPress

We come back to our photography blog example again; you probably have noticed that there is no easy way to sort photos and images in default WordPress installation.
This is already a nuance for a normal website, but for a photography blog, this is an absolute bummer.
But hey, we already know that if there is a problem, there is a plugin to fix that problem. For tagging image, we recommend you use Envira Gallery. It has built-in tagging capability.
With Envira Gallery, you can build responsive photo galleries in WordPress. But that’s not it; with this plugin, it is also possible to sort and filter photos with hot reloading, meaning you don’t need to reload the webpage to see your changes.

Importing External Images in WordPress Doesn’t Have to be a Pain.

So you’ve found WordPress out and want to move your existing Squarespace or Blogger blog into WordPress. Nice! You have exported and imported your site data into WordPress. But your images are still loading from outside your blog. This is counter-intuitive and can de-rank your website in search engines. To solve this, you can use the Auto Upload Images plugin.

With this plugin, you can manually or bulk edit all post to self host your images.

Force Add Featured Image in WordPress

Sometimes when multiple people are posting on the same site, some of them may not know the usage of the featured image. This is the ideal time to give them a reminder to upload a featured image upon submission of a post.
You guessed it, we have a plugin for that. The name of the plugin is Require Featured Image. This plugin will display a notification asking users to attach a featured image to their post.

With this plugin installed, posts without featured images can only be saved in the draft but not published.

Set a Placeholder Featured Image

Often times, your theme will require a featured image. But if you are like us, you know how cumbersome it can be to find a featured image for that niche blog sometimes. A placeholder image is just the tool you want in this scenario. And yes, you guessed it right; there is a plugin for that. The plugin is called default featured image.

So that’s that. Hopefully, this article has helped you, and you learned a thing or two about WordPress images.
